Hewlett Packard is sending bulk email advertisements to a spamtrap email address that was closed in 2005. The ESP is Yesmail, a subsidiary of Infogroup.

I blogged in early November about a spam I saw from Hewlett Packard to one of my spamtraps, that one sent via Acxiom Digital. Acxiom Digital has a reputation for being reasonably responsible and not knowingly sending bulk email to non-opted-in mailing lists. Unfortunately Yesmail does not. I hope that this change isn’t a sign that Hewlett Packard plans to send marketing email campaigns to email addresses that did not opt in.
