Finnish Skijumping Federation / Kansallistalkoot.fi: Soliciting contributions by spamming

Finnish Skijumping Federation is spamming, trying to suggest that sponsoring their activity would be tantamount to national community unpaid work (the name of the spam-advertised website, kansallistalkoot.fi, translates to “national community unpaid work”). I reject the notion. To me, there is no sense of community unpaid work in the Finnish Skijumping Federation (Finnjumping ry, a sub-association of Suomen Hiihtoliitto, the Finnish Ski Federation) soliciting businesses for monetary donations.

The spam was sent by Oraakkeli Oy (www, biz reg) on behalf of Finnjumping ry (www, biz reg) through the resources of StreamSend, whose Acceptable Use Policy forbids the sending of UCE and whose Legal Agreements (item 5, specifically) prohibit the use of purchased lists.

Political Spam Today: Now Obama and Boxer Pile On…

Today’s take: several spamtrap hits from President Barack Obama, with his name front and center in the From header, four spamtrap hits from Senator Barbara Boxer, a few spams from SuperPACs, and a single spam from a peace activist group that only creeps into the category of political spam because it expresses support for a few candidates. Realty One Group, which describes itself as “Nevada’s #1 Full Service Residential Real Estate Brokerage” (wheew!), a few months ago began sending bulk email newsletters to an email address that closed in 2008. Today’s newsletter is for… *Facebook* users… who struggle with the new Timeline feature. (Huh?) This spamtrap receives quite a bit of real-estate-related spam, so I think that it once belonged to a real estate agent who moved on after the market collapsed. The ESP is Streamsend.
