Political Spam Today: Donate! (Continued…)
This *weekend* the presidential campaigns doubled down on spam, as an FEC deadline at the end of September crept up upon them. Eight spams, all from one of the presidential campaigns or a Democratic Party campaign committee. One single spamtrap received copies of six of these eight spams. I’m not the typical email recipient, but if I had received that many begging emails from a candidate that I supported, I’d be tempted to vote for his opponent.
Seen before 5:00 PM Pacific Time, in the order of receipt:
- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton yet again stumping for current U.S. President Barack Obama, via ESP Blue State Digital. (Listed on: SpamCop)
- U.S. President Barack Obama, also via ESP Blue State Digital. (Listed on: SpamCop)
- Democratic Party Vice-Chairman Donna Brazile, speaking for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, via the official Democratic Party mailserver at ESP Blue State Digital. (Listed on: SpamCop)
- For the second time in 24 hours, U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, again via ESP Blue State Digital. (Listed on: SpamCop)
- U.S. Senator Patty Murray, the newest member of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee‘s “Spamming Senator of the Day” club, via ESP SalsaLabs (Wired for Change). (Listed on: SpamCop)
- Romney for President political director Rich Beeson, via ESP ExactTarget.
- Former Massachusetts Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, via ESP ExactTarget.
