YourMailingListProvider: Unidentifiable Customer Spams Scraped List :(
A unidentifiable investment solicitation spammer using an anonymous free GMail address (germany.bestinvest@gmail.com
) just emailed to a purchased or email appended list. The list includes two role accounts originally scraped from a website and Whois. I registered the domain for those accounts in the 1990s, and am the only registered owner that domain has ever had. Neither spammed email address *ever* sent email to anybody; they only received email. The ESP was YourMailingListProvider.
This spammer probably does not qualify as an otherwise legitimate company, but I can’t tell for sure. YMLP has allowed its customer to use an anonymous GMail account to send the spam, and masks the message URIs behind its own domains. So there is no way to tell who this is except by opening a tagged link in the email. I am not willing to do that for email that I did not solicit, especially email that so easily could have come from a scammer or even redirect to a site that hosts malware or phish.
YMLP, what were you thinking to allow this situation? Why did you not vet your customers more carefully? Why do you not require that customers use identifiable email accounts and web URLs in the emails that they send from your IP addresses?
