January 2016 in spamtraps: ESPs

The percentage of ESP sent mail vs all mail seen in the spamtraps is 1.4% this month.

For the first time in months, ExactTarget has dropped out of #1 – straight to #3, no less. We have no immediate observation to make on why this has happened; they’re hitting as many spamtraps as before, so maybe it is simply that their customers were sending less mail.
The Italian ESP Digital Metrics SRL (mail-maker.com), whose output was “otherwise unremarkable” last month, climbed up to claim a spot on the top 10 this month. We are hoping they won’t wish to go the MailerMAX way, but the signs are worrisome.
