We’ve come full circle; this is the first post of the new year. Thanks to all who are keeping up with the series. Hope to see you in Frisco in two weeks.

The percentage of ESP sent mail vs all mail seen in the spamtraps is 1.4% this month.

RATING PARTICIPANT PERCENTAGE NOTES
0 All others 50.3%
1 SendGrid 9.18%
2 MailChimp 9.15% 29% Mandrill, 71% MC proper
3 Salesforce Marketing Cloud 8.3% ExactTarget
4 Experian 5.2%
5 Topica 3.8%
6 Silverpop 3.6%
7 Amazon SES 3.3%
8 Constant Contact 2.7%
9 Responsys 2.4%
10 Digital Metrics 2.2%

Bubbling under: Rackspace Mailgun, SmartFocus (EmailVision) and eDialog, at 2.1%, 1.8% and 1.7%.

For the first time in months, ExactTarget has dropped out of #1 – straight to #3, no less. We have no immediate observation to make on why this has happened; they’re hitting as many spamtraps as before, so maybe it is simply that their customers were sending less mail.

The Italian ESP Digital Metrics SRL (mail-maker.com), whose output was “otherwise unremarkable” last month, climbed up to claim a spot on the top 10 this month. We are hoping they won’t wish to go the MailerMAX way, but the signs are worrisome.

And here’s the other (no longer such a “new”) graph, too.
