Fab.com spamming via ESP Sailthru

The “exclusive” seller of interior design stuff, Fab.com has a bit of a spam problem. Over the span of a month, an old and no longer used (but still “active”) address of mine has received not one, but six unsolicited bulk (and commercial) emails from the upscale interior design retailer.

Interestingly enough, in the body of the spam, Fab.com admits that the mail is an “invitation” to sign up to their site, supposedly initiated by one of their existing customers (or perhaps I should say “alleged” customers.) Ironically, that doesn’t stop them from claiming opt-in in the footer.

As a side note, the privacy implications of them sending me the email address of one of their supposed customers are rather troubling.

In any event, for a supposedly “exclusive” seller, they sure seem to be desperate to get signups, and willing to resort to UBE (spam) out of that desperation.

Most recent spam mail from fab.com came on October 30th and like those preceding it, was sent via ESP Sailthru.com.
