Gleanster spamming

Spamming Company: http://www.gleanster.com/
Sending ESP: http://www.salesfusion.com/

Today I received what seems to be spam from a company I’ve never done business with nor can I find any reference to sending or receiving an email from them in the past.

At the bottom of this email was one of the typical cover you bases excuse. Lame…

Note: You are receiving this communication because you have registered as a member of the Gleanster community or because you have opted in to be contacted through one of our content syndication or publication partners.

Well, I went to their community and tried to “retrieve” my password using the email address this spam was sent to, but not to my surprise the system didn’t respond to my email address. So that leaves me then to wonder what partners have I don’t business with? I can’t recall any and to be honest wouldn’t you think their “NOTE” should have given an example of what those partners are?

To me, this seems like someone bought a list or copied a marketing conference attendee list. No affirmative opt-in anywhere here.
