Pinnoitetyö Helsinki Oy, a local business that does roof repairs, is spamming.

The spam fails in a few very basic ways. For starters, the name of the business or its VAT ID are not indicated anywhere. These just so happen to be legal requirements. Unfortunately it happens that huopakatonkorjaus.fi or indeed anything to do with repairing bitumenous roofing felt (which is what the name translates to) is not a registered auxiliary trade name of said business, so it’s just not enough.

Also, the spam is naming “huopakatonkorjaus.fi customer file and public address sources” as the address source. Infinite Mho Oy does not own a building with a bitumenous felt roof (or indeed a building of its own at all), and so is guaranteed not to appear in their customer list – and unfortunately you aren’t legally allowed to outsource the responsibility for managing your personal data files to countless unknown third parties. Of course it was sent to an address retrieved from the Finnish Business Information System (and hence is legal B2B spam until told to stop, which has been done), but the act of collecting addresses from public sources constitutes building a personal data file for which they themselves are responsible.

The spam-advertised website is hosted by Planeetta Internet Oy.
