I admit it. I’ve been hesitant to talk about the flood of political spam that is hitting my spamtraps because there’s so much of it that I don’t know where to start. But the situation is crazy and getting worse by the day. So welcome to the new Political Spam Today report on the MainSleaze blog.

We’ve all seen how right-wing extremists have given Christianity a bad name by twisting Jesus’ message of love and reconciliation into a hateful political agenda.

But the truth is that they don’t represent the overwhelming majority of Christians. And there are literally millions of us who are ready to take on the Religious Right and reclaim our faith. But often we just don’t know where to start.

That’s why Faithful America is thinking about launching Let It Shine, a new online Christian community. While open to anyone who wants to join, we’d focus on organizing Christians of all traditions and denominations to demonstrate that right-wing extremists don’t speak for Jesus Christ.
