Rep. Steve Israel: Recruiting Votes for Alan Grayson — From a Spamtrap :/

The re-election campaign of U.S. Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida apparently learned nothing from the backlash against its first spam three days ago, because it spammed again today and hit the same spamtrap as it did then. It has switched ESPs, from Salsalabs, the ESP side of liberal U.S. political activist group Wired for Change, to ExactTarget.

This behavior almost suggests that they know that they are spamming and intend to keep doing it. Unfortunately for the Grayson Campaign, both Salsalabs and ExactTarget are good, responsible ESPs that do not tolerate spam or spammers on their systems, so the change might not do them much good. Nor should it. It appears that the Grayson Campaign, instead of attempting to fix their spam problems, tried to duck around them by switching ESPs and not notifying their new ESP that emailing their list had caused an SBL listing already.

It is a pity that their marketing team is better at writing funny political campaign solicitations (as evidenced by the previous spam) than at running a clean, non-spamming bulk email campaign.
