Mainospörssi: Contaminating TeliaSonera outbounds with spam

Mainospörssi (Deltaline Oy, www, biz reg, responsible people) is spamming Finnish B2B with a list purchased from Suomen Asiakastieto Oy and contaminating the outbound of their ISP, TeliaSonera plc, with their spam.

TeliaSonera’s response 1 Aug: “We sent a complaint on the matter both to Mainospörssi and the list vendor.” As if that would result in anything. Spammers take warnings as free opportunities to continue doing what they were doing, and terminations as a necessary cost of business. The only thing a service provider can do is make a spammer the problem of anybody else but themselves.

At present, kirsi1.inet.fi is listed by SpamCop.

Effortia Oy still happily spamming away via YourMailingListProvider

Effortia Oy, an old acquaintance here, continues to spam Finnish B2B via ymlp.net / Your Mailing List Provider. YMLP is turning a deaf ear to complaints sent via email and their website. The spam-advertised websites are hosted by Hostingpalvelu.fi.

OPR-Vakuus Oy (yritysluotto.fi): Advertising business loans to spamtraps

Yesterday, I received spam advertising business loans from yritysluotto.fi to the address listed for my business in the YTJ (Finnish Business Information System). So did hundreds of Finnish YTJ spamtraps to which I have visibility. The sender is OPR-Vakuus Oy (www, biz reg, people responsible), who have been at this for at least a year and a half.

ACC Consulting Oy endangers the email deliverability of the entire Elisa Oyj customer base

Today, it transpired that Spamhaus.org have created an informational non-blocking listing for the consumer outbound mail servers (195.197.172.0/32) of Elisa plc, aka Helsinki Telephone Co, based on the spam that is being sent out by our old friend Acc Consulting Oy.

Based on the events surrounding a similar issue with the generic customer outbound mail service of Anvia plc (see SBL221497), it appears that such issues have a tendency to escalate into actual blocking listings if left unattended.

Can Elisa plc afford to have the deliverability of every single customer of theirs compromised because of one abusive customer? Inquiring minds want to know.

Update: I hadn’t noticed Helsingin Sanomat, the prime Finnish daily newspaper, have written about Acc’s spam back in the end of March. 🙂

Update 20140514: Updated the text with the target of the informational listing. Elisa seem to have gotten off their bums and removed the problem, and hence the listing has been removed. That is a welcome development. I hope it is genuine.

Filip Poutintsev, aka Sheikh Ahmed, from Karachi, Colombia is at it again
